I specialize in building young field trial dogs. I tailor my retriever
programs to the individual needs of your dog. I aim to develop a dog
with optimal confidence and
a superior attitude. Training builds upon your dog's natural desire
and drive
and transforms
it into consistent, quality performance in the field.

Solid Foundations
All training builds upon a solid off-leash obedience program. The
key to success with any dog is control and consistency. When a relationship
of respect exists between dog and handler, both will have clear expectations
of what is expected in terms of performance.
There's no doubt that strong drive and desire in a dog is a positive trait for retriever training. However, if your dog's willingness to please translates into an over-excited, out-of-control dog in training, how can you expect that dog to perform on the line at a hunt test, or in the field when it is over 50 or 100 yards away from you?
Emphasis on obedience sets clear standards for your dog. Once your
dog understands what your expectations are, the potential for learning
is limitless.
